Buddhism is very open, and Buddhists are generally open to marrying non-Buddhists. Anyone can be a Buddhist or practice Buddhism.

I’m Japanese and I’m a Buddhist, and my wife is Ukrainian and she is a Christian. We never have any problems about religion or theology. Generally, if there’s any problems between a relationship between a Buddhist and a Christian, it usually comes from the Christian counterpart, or the Christian counterpart’s family who insist that their son/daughter marry a Christian. Buddhists in general are indifferent to any religion and don’t think of such matters when marrying someone; they don’t marry a religion, but rather the person they love.

I’m a (not very traditional) Buddhist and I’ve been married to a divorced Catholic woman for three years. It’s worth it if you can get past the mother-in-laws!

For starters, they aren’t "Christian" holidays… That’s how.

Christmas is the celebration of the Yule time, a pagan tradition. It’s a time of merriment and happiness. As for "santa", a man later recognized as Saint Nicholas would go through local villages in Europe and leave nuts, berries, and sometimes, small gifts in the shoes of the local children. This is also where the idea of stockings came about.

Easter is the celebration of the spring time, of renewal and revival in the life of the earth. I do not recall it’s original name. The rabbit is a sign of fertility and therefore by extension, related to such renewal. Eggs too are a sign of fertility. However, the two were never likely meant to be mixed, just used in conjunction.

Because Christian holidays are a rip off of other religious holidays.

Easter and Christmas were both originally Pagan, and turned Christian later on. Now Christian holidays are turning capitalist.

Don’t be too shocked…it’s the republicans, who claim to be for Christianity and Christian morality…are the ones who promote big capitalism. Capitalism’s one rule is "if it sells, go for it." So according to republican values, if selling out Christianity is monetary gain, "go for it."
