About Emma

emmajoshHi everyone, my name is Emma and I have been, by His power and grace, blessed with incredible fortune.

You see, I always felt there was something missing in my life.  Something was not quite right.

I had (and have) a very fulling relationship with the Holy Spirit – but still – I felt that there was an incompleteness that He wanted me to go out and fill.

I had, as many of us do, spent time dating and enjoyed the company of several very good, honest and spiritual men.  A few I met I even asked myself if this was the “one” for me.  But, there was always something not quite right.  I knew that God would let me know when I met the right person.

Then, one day I a few months ago, I was talking to a girlfriend after church.  She told me how she had met this incredible guy and was falling in love.  I was soo happy for her – I think we ever shed a few tears of joy :)

Anyway, I asked her all about him and she told me that he had a great relationship with God and the church, a good job, close family ties, wanted to be a father – and he was handsome.  Well, I listened to all this and then asked where they met.

At this, my friend actually turned the color of beet and started stuttering.  Something was wrong.  She was embaressed for some reason.

I, of course, told her that if she loved this really great man how could it possibly make a difference how they met?

Then it came out why she was embaressed.

They had met through an Internet Dating service online.

Well, at first, I was a little taken back.  I had heard all sorts of stories about these services and a lot of it was just not good.  I calmed her down and started to ask a few questions – after all, this was my best friend and I should support her.

She explained how she had read an article about finding love online and had done some research as to the different internet dating services available.  She found out quickly that there were 100′s of these dating sites, and as I suspected, many of them are just trashy and downright vulgar.  But, she also found there are some sites that many quality Christian Singles meet and some that are specifically just for Christians.

So, I thought “why not try?”

I joined two different sites – Christian Mingle and Christian Cafe.

I will tell you straight away both surpassed my expectaions by a long way.  They are full of quality, loving people who are respectful and, very importantly, have great relationships with God.

Well, I posted my profile on both and was overwhelmed with the responses I had.  So, much so, that I had to limit the amout of contacts I recieved.

There are thousands of Christian Singles using these dating services.  From all walks of life, different denominations, different races, colors, creeds, backgrounds and anything else one can think of.  It is amazing!

Anyway, I started comuunicating with a few guys from my local area and quickly realized that several of them were just what I was looking for.

There was this cute guy named Josh (Christian Mingle) who caught my attention straight away.  Obviously, I liked the look of him but there was something more.  His profile and initial emails were so respectful and his love of God, his family and his life just came shinning through like a ray of light.

We chatted for a week or so and then we had our first phone conversation.  I have to admit, I was really, really nervous waiting for him to call.  There was no need, he was exactly the same on the phone as in hes emails.

We must have talked for 3 hours.

That night I prayed and asked for His guidence.  I wanted to know if I was doing the right thing.  Afterwards, I lay in bed and felt at peace with the sound of Josh’s kind voice still in my ears.

In the morning I awoke and immediately checked my emails – there was one for Josh.  It just said ”Thank you Emma, last night you touched my heart.”

He called later and asked if he we could meet.  I, of course, said yes but wanted to make sure our first meeting was someplace we could both feel safe and secure.   So I decided that we should meet for Sunday brunch and the, if we wanted, we could go to church together – so my family could get a look at him :)

Well, to cut a long story short, 6 months later we were married and, by the grace of God, we are planning our life and family together.

I hope and pray that anyone reading this will find inspiration to go find the love that God wants for us all.

Emma & Josh.
